Main purpose of the job

The incumbents will be expected to conduct outreach health programmes for the

programme, which will involve promoting the benefits of HIV testing and promote

health seeking behaviour in adolescents and youth including the uptake of Family

Planning Services, Post-Violence Care Services and linkage to care.

Key performance areas :

• Conduct facility-level mobilization and enrolment of participants into the

DREAMS (integrated PrEP & SRH) programme.

• Create demand for HTS and HIV prevention services amongst AGYW

attending facilities and ensure clients are linked to such services.

• Ensure daily client mobilisation targets are met.

• Promote the health benefits of HIV testing, U=U and positive health seeking

behaviour amongst adolescents and young women.

• Conduct health promotion and health education talks (HTS, PrEP, SRHR, TB) at

health facilities.

• Support AYFS and youth-zone specific mobilization and awareness activities at

health facilities.

• Mobilize, screen, and identify clients who are at risk for acquiring HIV and link

them to HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment including, SRHR and PrEP

services at heath facilities and within outreach events.

• Conduct sexual behavioural risk assessments on all patients testing HIV

negative.

• Conduct risk reduction counselling for all patients identified with risk lifestyle

practices that increases their acquisition for HIV.

• Ensure accurate documentation of the names and contact details of clients

who are accessing services.

• Strengthen adherence and retention in care, by acting as treatment

supporters to all AGYW on PrEP. This will include the formulation of adherence

support groups (virtual and in-person) including youth care clubs.

• To facilitate and fast-track to HTS and PrEP services, all referrals from

community-based organizations.

• To document all referrals from the community to the PrEP implementing site.

• To promptly trace and link back-to-care, those clients who have missed their

scheduled appointments.

• To compile weekly and monthly reports and maintain accurate records of all

relevant information.

• Perform other duties aligned to the role as assigned.

Required minimum education, training, and technical support :

o Grade 12/Matric

Minimum work experience :

o 6 months

Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities :

o Knowledge of DREAMS programme, HIV prevention and SRH services for

AGYW.

o Certificate of completion of online NDoH PrEP course:

o Confident with good communication & interpersonal skills.

o Previous voluntary work background will be an advantage.

o Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build and maintain relationships

with stakeholders and clients.

o Teaching and leadership skills.

o Organizational skills.

o Administrative skills.

o Good writing skills.

o Proficiency in English and local languages spoken in the district.

o Able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

o Ability to work under pressure and in a diverse environment.

o Attention to detail and ability to deliver within deadlines.

o Self-motivation with high regard for excellence, work ethics, values, and

integrity.

o Ability to travel and provide roving support to facilities on daily basis.

o Must reside in Alfred Nzo District.

funded projects to improve HIV and TB outcomes through providing technical

assistance and direct service delivery support. MatCH is looking for a suitably qualified

candidates to fill the following positions under a project aimed at Achieving and

Sustaining HIV/TB Epidemic Control in the Eastern Cape Province – Integrated Service

Delivery Response.
