Division: Operations and Maintenance
Salary: R 262 020 – R 359 424 per annum (Plus benefits)

Core Responsibilities:

 ·         Supervise hand excavation for the laying of cables and the planting of poles using hand tools

·         Supervise and assist with the installation of underground MV, LV and Streetlights cables according to works order instructions

·         Supervise and assist with the installation of overhead conductors and installation, relocation and removal of metering and distribution boxes

·         Install, remove and replace streetlight luminaires, poles, transformers and MV switchgear

·         Operate mechanical plant and equipment to achieve Departmental and Divisional set goals and objectives

·         Comply with safety regulations as a requirement of the OHS Act

·         Monitor that the general handy work is completed, adhering to governance and safety requirements

·         Prevent wasteful expenditure and comply with Finance related legislation

·         Ensure compliance with the Batho Pele principles, maintain good customer relations and efficient and productive service delivery

·         Provide people management to maintain a high level of productivity

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 
  • Valid Code EC Drivers Licence with PrDP
  • 2 years’ experience in Municipal environment
